How to turn ON & OFF the MeteoRain IoT Compact wireless rain gauge?

The red light of the Sensor Filter inside the MeteoHelix weather station every 10 seconds indicates on-state.

QUESTION: How to turn ON and OFF the MeteoRain wireless rain gauge and how to RESET and activate its LoRaWAN join requests?

ANSWER: A magnetic switch is located under the “MAGNET” label in the cup when you remove the rain catchment funnel from the rain gauge by twisting it out of the two snaps as shown in the following video:

  1. To turn ON, just place the supplied magnet stick with the side labeled “MAGNET” next to the aforementioned magnet label. Short successive red blinks will indicate the wireless rain gauge is now turned ON.

    • Verify ON state by observing a red blink when flipping the tipping bucket spoons from side to side using the magnet stick.

  2. To turn OFF, again place the magnet stick next to the magnet label and wait for one long red blink.

    • Verify OFF state by observing that the red LED light will NOT blink when flipping the tipping bucket spoons from side to side.

LoRaWAN RESET procedure to activate join requests

  1. Turn OFF and then turn ON the device using the magnet stick using the above procedure to reset LoRaWAN parameters and activate the sending of LoRaWAN device join requests.
