BARANI DESIGN takes center stage to deliver improved climate change monitoring with support from EURAMET
/With support from EURAMET, BARANI DESIGN Technologies was able to optimize the revolutionary helical MeteoShield® solar radiation shield to deliver a significant improvement in the precision of climate change monitoring. Its ability to reduce atmospheric air temperature uncertainty in all-weather conditions and climates by over 100 % over the most common multi-plate solar radiation shields and screens will result in a significant confidence improvement in confirming climatic changes not only in nature, but also in cities, deserts, rain forests and even arctic climates.
Climate change presents many challenges to society, including the effects of global warming and an increase in severe weather event frequency. Data from weather stations generated for short-term forecasting could be used to identify climate change trends, but higher quality measurements are needed. To achieve more accurate air temperature measurement, for example, sources of error caused by weather station siting and poor housing design need to be better understood.
