Difference between cumulative and event based rain display on allMeteo.com portal
QUESTION: What is the difference between Cumulative and Event rain display and why should I choose one over the other?
ANSWER:
Cumulative rain display is useful for agriculture or predicting flooding. Flooding is usually are result of continuous rain amounts over a longer period of time resulting is rising river levels. The user can select a time period that is useful for them to monitor how much rain has accumulated. This setting can be changed in the Graph Preferences on the allMeteo® portal.
Event rain display is useful for monitoring short-term rain events when there is a risk of street flooding, flash floods or canalization overflowing as are used in many smart-cities and resilient city applications. It clearly shows the rain intensity of each individual storm.
Changing rain resolution and plot settings
The MeteoHelix® weather station rain gauge input collects and counts the clicks from a rain gauge mechanism. The rain gauge resolution is dictated by the rain gauge... usually written on the bottom.
